Aspen Engineering and Environmental provides full-service environmental services for private, commercial, and industrial organizations at a fraction of traditional costs. Diverse site assessment, remediation, permitting, and regulatory compliance services are accomplished efficiently and economically.

Here are some of the services that Aspen can provide.

SPCC Plans

Aspen specializes in Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans for industrial and commerical customers - especially in the electric utility industry. We have prepared plans for over 1000 facilities over the past 15 years. Customers include Flathead Electric Cooperative, PacifiCorp, Idaho Falls Power, Clark County PUD, and Univar.

We can handle all phases of the SPCC plan development including site inspection, plan preparation, plan update and revision, and plan certification. We have PE certification for most western states and are intimately familiar with the SPCC regulations.

Permitting and Regulatory Compliance

Aspen has extensive experience with all types of permitting and regulatory compliance projects. Currently we are working on providing permitting and environmental compliance services for two large geothermal plants planned for Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. We have recently repermitted a large landfill in Northern Utah and have been retained to provide environmental and permitting services for the landfill development.

Aspen is currently working with a large ski resort in Park City, Utah to revise their air permit to remain in compliance with Utah air regulations. We are also working with a large western utility to update and revise their hydro operations plan to meet FERC permit requirements.

Site Remediation and Closure

Aspen can provide a wide range of remediation services to handle site remediation and closure. Aspen personnel have been involved in site remediation for over 25 years and have successfully closed sites throughout the Intermountain West and Alaska.

We are currently providing site closure oversight for the former owner of a large truck maintenance facility in Anchorage, Alaska and recently completed a successful remediation project for a auto used parts facility near American Fork, Utah.

Phase I Environmental Assessments

Aspen personnel have completed over 100 Phase I Environmental Sit Assessments for property transactions in accordance with ASTM Standard 1527. We understand that time is of the essence with many property transactions and we strive to provide a quality product on short notice. We tailor our Phase I assessments to meet the requirements of the customer and move the process forward.

UST Remediation and Closure

Aspen has extensive experience in UST remediation and closure. Rather than spending years studying the problem, we work with owners and regulators to determine how to move the project forward. We take pride in our ability to move sites to closure as quickly as possible.

Soil and Groundwater Sampling

Aspen personnel have over 20 years of experience sampling soil and groundwater for commercial and industrial clients. We are currently sampling soil at sites across the Western United States for a large utility and are a certified UST groundwater sampler.

Solid and Hazardous Waste Management

Aspen personnel have decades of experience handling solid and hazardous waste across the Intermountain West and Alaska. We understand hazardous waste characterization and disposal requirements and can help businesses minimize their hazardous waste generation and the resultant disposal costs.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans

Aspen has developed SWPPPs for many large and small companies throughout the western U.S. We are currently developing a SWPPP for a large dam re-construction project in Idaho. As engineers, we can design BMPs that will meet or exceed the regulatory requirements and insure that our clients are in compliance throughout the construction process.
